March is Caffeine Awareness Month. How better to kick it off than by talking about chocolate and caffeine. Quite a few people stay away from chocolate because they think it has too much caffeine. Yes, there is caffeine in chocolate, but only in very small amounts. For those who need to avoid caffeine completely, this is very bad news! Caffeine will be higher in dark chocolate since there is more chocolate mass present in the bar. Milk chocolate measures at about 5 milligrams of caffeine per ounce, while dark or unsweetened can measure between 5-10 milligrams caffeine per ounce of chocolate.
