Shake It Up!

I love shakes.  Cool, creamy, yummy.  They are a great way to cool off on a warm day.  They also go great with burgers and onion rings.  Shakes can be a great on-the-run meal, depending on the ingredients.  This basic recipe is protein rich and chock full of heart healthy, anti-oxidant rich goodies.

This refreshing drink gives you a good dose of what you need and it tastes great.  Do you see all the chocolate?  Just wait until you taste it!  It’s a perfect after workout drink or morning meal.  Get fueled up with this yummy shake!

Frozen Banana-Peanut Butter-Chocolate Chip Shake
makes one large shake or two small ones

    2 peeled bananas – frozen, cut into chunks…not rock hard!
    2 tablespoons creamy natural peanut butter
    1 cup almond milk
    1/4 cup chocolate, chopped -> I used Nirvana Dark
    nibs – optional

    Blend bananas, peanut butter and milk in a blender until smooth.  Add the chocolate at the end and pulse or blend briefly until they are incorporated.  Sprinkle on a few nibs and enjoy!
