It might sound crazy, but this weekend we’re going to celebrate chocolate. That’s right. Chocolate.
First up we have National Chocolate Fondue Day on February 5th. Bring out the chocolate and dip your favorite items into the melted chocolate yumminess for some deliciously good times. Good for family fun, small dinner parties or just a plain fun. Need some ideas about how to get it started? Here are some tips:
Chocolate fondue is easy to make, great for social gatherings and absolutely delicious to eat. People always ask what type of chocolate to use for the fondue. Well, the best quality chocolate will make the best chocolate fondue. Read the ingredients because you don’t want to eat any trans fats or artificial junk, right? Stick with the natural products.
The chocolate for fondue can be mixed with heavy cream or milk to make a thinner consistency. You can also use grape seed oil, which doesn’t impart too much flavor on the chocolate like olive oil. For the best results, heat the cream over a gentle heat in a double boiler, break up the chocolate and mix the ingredients. Easy as that! Dip pieces of fruit, cake, cookies and pretzels in the decadent chocolate fondue mixture and the party is on 🙂
The next day, February 6th, is National Nutella Day. What’s better than Nutella?
